Captain John Burgess, the 41-year-old New Zealander who has flown 2,000,000 miles. • has jbeen tiamed by the British Overseas"' Airways Corporation as the mah who will have charge of their fleet of ten twin-deck Boeing stratocruisers. He will control 35 complete air crews with six men in each. Mr. J. H. Tennant, who for the past eight months has been Levin and district representative for the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society, Ltd., "has been promoted to the position of divisional superintendent at Palmerston North. Mr. E. L, Thomas, of Palmerston North and formerly of Levin, where he was well known in hockey and cricket circles, has been transferred on promotion to Levin and district to succeed Mr. Tennant.
