Headmasters Confer On School Work

WELLINGTON, August 1. Senior headmasters chosen from each of the school distrivts of the Dominion. commenced a ref reslier course at 1 rederic Wallis House, Lower Hutt,^ this morning. Sixteen teachers and Education Department ofiicers have formed discussion groups and the general puroose is an adjustment of the primary ichool to the c'hild. The praetice adopt;d is not along the usual conference 'ines, topics being discussed in an informal manner without _ groups being addressed by a ieeturer. With a chairman to control the speakers, the subject is introduced and contributions madt by comfortably seated niembers of the group. In a prominent position on the wall is a roster headed "Dishmasters for Headmasters." For e'aeh of the five days the conference will last, teams have been detailed for dishwashing dutieS, the serving of morning and afternoon teas, with the heads of the table appointed to serve meals.
