Taxi And Safe Taken From Levin Garage

A safe containing a sum of money and a large quantity of petrol coupons* was removed from the garage premises of J; C. Milnes, Ltd., early on Sunday morning, when thieves forced an entry and left in one of the firm's Taxis after ransacking the office. The car was found abandoned near "Foxton and the safe, blown by explosives, on the Waitarere Road. A farmer living near the locality heard an explosion at 5.30 a.m. Investigating, he found the blown safe and saw the car disappearing round a beifd in the road. Hb communicated with the Levin Police immediately.
