Meeting Of Ratepayers' Association
♦ Now in its second year, the finances of the Levin Ratepayers' Association were in a sound posifcion,. reported the secretary, Mrs. B. T. Bruce, at the association's recent mont'hly meeting. Expenses in connection with the recent municipal by-election had been met by voluntary assistance from members. The meeting extended its thanks to those who had kindly given support. It was reported by the chairman, Mr. H. Rippin, that at their open meetings members of . the Levin Borough Council appeared eager to discuss borough afEairs mere fully. Several other members who had attended meetings of the council spoke on similar lines. Notice of motion was given by Messrs. W. Seddon and F. Croot in regard to amendments to the ruies and a proposed advisory counci1. This will come before the annual meeting. It was felt that in the light of past experience some alterations in the rules were necessary. Discussion on the borough estimates was deferred pending copies of the balance sheet being available. The Minister of Internal Affairs wrote offering the assistance of his department in town planning, while Mr. Seddon advised having received a copy*of a paper relative to town planning' and general guidanc.fi.
