Te Horo Women's Institute Holds Meeting

. The monthly meeting of the Te Horo Women's Institute was held recently in the Te Horo Hail, when there was a fair attendance. Members were welcomed by the president,. Mrs. W. Clark. Several apologies for absence were receive'd and a welcome home was extended to Mrs. R. Jenkins on her return from Australia. Mrs. M: Hodder, a committee member who is )ea.ving the district, was a guest of the afternoon. Farewells were exchanged and Mrs. Clark made. a presentation to Mrs. Hodder on behalf of members, Mrs. K. Spiers al'so presenting her with flowers. Mrs. Hodder suitably replied. ;/ A demonstration on making lamp shades was given by Mrs. N. Bracken, . some most attractive models being dlsplayed, Whiie Mrs. D. .Grant demonstrated flowerless "decoration schemes. Pianoforte solos were played by Mrs. Waide, while a cOmpetition prize donated by Mrs. D. Grant was won by Mrs. M; Hodder. Afternoon tea was served by the. hostesses Mesdames Waide and Jenkins. • Results of the monthly competitions were as follows: — Best flower ih my garden: Mrs. L. Styles 1, Mrs. K. Spiers "2, Mrs. C. Sutton 3. Bunch of carrots: Mrs. O. Shirnack 1, Mrs. D. Grant 2, Mesdames N. Bracken and C. Sutton 3 (equal) . Bowl of berries or leaves: Mrs. G.1 BrOwn 1; Mrs. C. Sutton 2, Mrs. O. Shirnack 3.
