Cook. at the Otaki Borough Council's meeting on Wednesday night. "This laiid ds untended and is covered with^^ox-thorn . Progress is being re'tarded' as Inere are many ideal building sites in the block," added Cr. Cook. He was conimenting following the reading of a letter from the Minister of Health, who in acknowledgment of *a communication from the council, said, i& was not possible ; to make ihe land availab'e for I building purposes. The Minister Wdvised that it was vested in the King George V Memorial Fund Board. 5 While the Teply of the Minister was considered to be unhelpful, it was pointed out that the matter had been under consideration by an earlier council, when opinions were expressed that populating the ar-ea would interfere with the privacy of the camp. Cr. Cook considered that the matter should be taken further. "Children are not getting any benefit from land in the state this is in, and neither is anyone else. The land should be returning good revenue," he concluded. It was resolved to refer the matter to the Memorial Fund Board.
