Praise For Service Given In Levin Shops
"I wish to express appreciation of the service and civility I received in the several shops I visited 'irYLfevin Tast Friday evenin'g," says a Wanganui resident in a -letter to the Ivlayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin. "] am a public servant myself and know now trying the general public can be, particularly after one has been on the job, all day. The writer.. eontinues : "I ha'd just arrived in Levin after a week of shopping in Wellington and the cheerfulness and civility of the shop assistants in your town after the city was particularly noticeable and refreshing, Nothing was. too much trouble for them, more so when I mentioned that I was a stranger. They could not expect to see me again so the motive was not mercenary. I intend returning to Levin in the near future on a shopping expedition and will certainly mention to several of my friends, who ha.ve been in the habit of visiting Palmerston North to shop, the treament I received and the fact that the shops are a's' well stocked as anywhere I have been."
