Called to the scene of a car collision in which four persons were.injured at Paraparaumu last niglit a -Free Ain- . buTance; driver found one -of them so severely injured with a d^qp cuf in the throat that an enierge^LCy -^nd ra*, tion had to be performed by ;Dr..-E. J. Maivshall, of Paraparaumu.^ The. operation involved the insertiou Qf. a tube in the injured man's windpipe to allow. him to keep breathing. He- was .Mr. D. Smith, a shepherd of PAraparaunin. Mr, E. Gatchell, an aircraftman, suffered a fractured arai and cuts 011 the face and hands, Mr. J.
