COMMUNISTS DEMONSTRATE
IN HIGH COURT Received Fridav 7.35 p.m. MELBOURNE, July 1. A Communist demonstration broke out in the Iligh Court to-day when Cecil Herbert Sharpley, a former Com munist otiicial, stepped into the witness box to g'ive evidenee before the Royal Commission on Communism in Victoria. His entry into the box was the signal for shouts of "You dirty rat Sharpley," and "You. couldn't tell the trutli, Sharpley." The demonstration lasted only a few seconds. When the Commissioner, Mr Justice Lqwe, ordered the Court to be cleared, a gallery of about 50 including the demonstrators, left quietly. Asked by Mr R. K. Sholl ET.C., assisting the Commission, if he could recognise any of the demonstrations, Mr Sharpley named six people and gave their positions in the Communist Party at the time he left it. Mr Sharpley then gave evidenee alojig the lines of his published articles.
