TRADE WITH THE REDS

Received Friday, 7 p.m. WASHINGTON, June 30. The State Department today denied. that any de facto recognition of Communist China would be necessary for a resumption of trade with China. This trade is under discussion between Anglo-American officials in London. The Nevv York Herald-Tribune reported earlier that tlie State Department was preparing to grant de facto recognition to the Communist Government in .China so that the United States could do business with the Chinese Communists. A Stafq "Department spokesman said today that technically it was hardly correct to say that the Unjted Stat.es could not do business with a country without de facto recognition. He add,ed, however, that such recognition would make trade easier.
