School Adopts Ship

AUCKLAND, June 22. One of the few fully equipped cadet training ships in the world, the Pederal Line motorship Durham, has been adopted by the Takapuna Grammar ' School under the British Ship Adoption Society 's scheme. Early last year the school adopted the same company's steamer Cornwall but the ship was sold for scrapping some mohths ago. It was decided to continue the school 's link with the merchant service and arrangements were completed today by tne headmaster, Mr. K. J. Dellow, and master of the Durham, Captain R. J. ts. Dunning. The Takapuna Grammar School is the only New Zeal and- school to adopt a ship under the British Ship Adoption Society.
