Milk Bottle Pilferer Active In George Street

An incidence of milk bottle pilfering was reported from George Street this week, tokens and money being removed from bottles before the arrival of the milk vendor on iVlohday morninig. One resident. suffered to the extent of 11s 8d, ajn amoiint which he lef t in his milk biily 'for the purchase of a supply of tokens. The Levin police said yesterday that they had not yet received a complaint from residents ih George Street, and emphasised the necessity for immediate action by victims of this and other types of petty crime. It was difiicult enough to catch such thieves, and the position was made worse by delay in reporting each instance.
