Everyboy's Rally Presents Badges And Prizes
The Poroutawhao Everyboy's Rally he'd its half-yearly prizegiving recently, when a large number of parents and friends were present. After a period of games there followed the rally parade and roll ca'l, during which time the badges and prizes won during the preceding six months were presented. Before introducing Mr. Allan Packer, of Otaki, who presented the awards, the rally leader, Mr. T. Wilson, welcomed the visitors and thanked them for the interest shown in the movement. In his remarks Mr. Wilson sai'd that the rally had an average attendance of 33 boys, coming from the Waitarere, Poroutawhao, Whirokino and Koputaroa distriets. AU the boys were' transported to the hall in cars and trucks, the five vehicles used covering a total of 120 miles each rally night. Mr. Packer then presented badges and prizes to the following boys:— Motor mechanic's ba-dge (Instructor, Mr. C. G. Munn) : Rangi Tohai, Tai Tatana, Mene Tatana, John Hag^ey and Matene Williams. Life-saving badge (Instructor, Mr. W. A. Coppin) : Neville Keys, Darcy Tohai and Whare Chase. Handyman's badge (Instructor, Mr. F. C. Wilson) : Guy Jansen. John Gordon, Arthur Graham, Sid Littleton, Michael Miller, Bob Brown, Tom McDermott, Rex Stone, Earl Graham, Malco'm Guy, Donald Ching, Iwi Nicholson, Royal Epirama, Ravmond Stone, Thomas Mackle, Putu Epirama and Bob Graham.
