Elaborate Planning For National Ball
Regarded hy many as the social event of the dancing season, the National . Party's annual ball this year is.. being planned along lines which will eclipse all previous func-. tions in the elaborateness of the arrangements made. With the function. oifiy one short Week away, the committee is now busily engaged in carrying out the large amount of work involved. The extensive improvements and renovations to the Regent Ballroom are being pushed ahead so that they will be completed by nexfc Fri-day, and this will he the first large-scale ball to be held in the transformed building. The interior of the hall is to be specially decorated to make an attractive setting for the many beautiful frocks which will he worn by the ladies and to assist in giving that atmosphere of gaiety which is a prerequisite of such functions. Now that the necessary 'facnties have been provided, a sit-down supper will be a new feature this year. Another attraction is the sevenpiece orchestra, . As in past years, the presentation of 'debutantes is likely to he a highlight and on this occasion they will be presented to the leader of the National Party, Mr. S. G. Hol'and, and Mrs. Holland, who have accepted an invitation to attend.
