Cold Weekend Skyrockets Power Consumption

That there had been a very noticeable rise in the qonsumptioii of electric power durihg the cold spell experienced last weekend was mentioned at the monthly meeting of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board at its meeting on Wednesday. Heavy restrictions had been in force last year, which accounted for the high increase. • The chairman, Mr. T. G. Vincent, said he thought that although the people were subjected to a certain amount of inconvenience, the1 quota system was bet'ter than black-outs at all and sundrv times.
