Rugby Union Works To Get Big Match
"We left" no stone unturned m our endeavour to securfe the match with the New Zealand team prior to its first game with the Australians," said the president of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, Mr. R. L. Robinson, at-a meetings of the management committee- last night. He stated that" he had sent an urgent levter and telephoned to fche N.Z.R.U. a'dvisirig that -'the Horowhenua union would be willing to play -a match in Levin on any day in the* week. The N.Z.R.U. had met this week, but so far no advice had been received .from it as to the final decision. •A ihaitch like that would be a great draw card -fb'r Levin, Mr. Robinson added, and the union was anxious.to secure it. - The meeting decided to confUm the president's afetion.
