MASTERTON, June 12. . Lynndale (Auckland) won the Air Force Shield memorial road relay race from Wellington to Masterton this aft on by a fairly substantial mkrgin, ' om last year's winners, Hutt Valley. Lynndale won the flrst contest in 1947. The first three placiogs and times were: — Lynndale, 6 hours 3 minutes Iseconds, 1; Hutt Valley, 6 hours 5 minutes 21 seconds, 2; Presbyterian, 6 hours 21 minutes 45 seconds, 3. Last year Hutt Valley 's winning time was 6 hours 4 minutes 33 seconds and in 1947 Lynndale did the journey in 5 hours 59 minutes 35 seconds. Conditions were ideal for today's race, the weather being perfect. Lynndale gave an impressive performance.
