Personal. Mrs. Rogers, of Wellington, is spen'ding a short holiday with' her braaher and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. Murdoch, Margaret Street. •V/.D.F.U, Celebrations. Several members of the Shannon branch of the Women's Division of Federate'd Farmers visited Palmerston - North last Thursday to* attend the 22nd birthday celebrations of the Palmerston North branch. Those who made the trip reported a most enjoyable; afternoon. Successful Shoo Day. Members of the Ven Bede's Anglican Ladies' Guil'd he.d a mosti successful shop day in Mrs. Hyde's: shop on Friday. There was an excellent selection of articles and all met with a ready sale. The-money raised will be used for the building of a' fence in front o_ the recently re-erected church in Stout Street. Memorial Hall Site. Following a discussion on the proposed war memorial hall site at Tuesday evening's' meeting of the Shannon Borc -gh . Couneil, th town c.erk was aj - ected to write t- 1 the Commissione of Police, Palmerston North, asking if the prop--erty situated on the eorner of Stout and Venn Strests wourd be available for the erection of the hall. Memorial Hall Site BLK - Mr. L. Robinson, of Blenheim, who was a member of the Shannon Football Club over 40 years ago, has presented a medal to the Shannon senior team for competition this seasoh. The conditions are to be arranged by the management committee. Mr. Robinson, who was present for the recent jubiiae celebrations, was greatly impressed by the standard of play of thp local senior team. His gesture is greatiy appreciated by the club.
