WANDERERS JUNIORS SCORE OVER RAHUI
The elements were not in favour of attendances on Saturday, and just a sprinkling of peop.e saw Wanderers juniors defeat Rahui by 11—6. The winners gave a pleasing 'display and won well, with Rahui desperately unlucky on numerous occasions. Late in the second spell they continually attacked, and reached their opponents' line, but scores were not to be. •Simeon, with a nice kick, opened the scoring following a penalty to Wanderers in front of the goal. Rahui retaliated ■ and D. Walker was run out at the corner flag. A dribbling rush soon after saw N. Mu'dgway dive to force, only for the ball to evade him and go dead. The attack was kept up and soon after Tom Fox scored a nice try to even scores. R. Bevan and Rodgers headed a rush which was only halted on the line, and a penalty ta Wanderers relieved. Matthews was, seen to advantage soon after on defence for Rahui and, retaliating, Rahui forwards were again forced out/ The close of the first half came soon after, but not before Morgan ha'd put the visitors in the lead with another try. - ~ Rahui forwards penetrated -early in the second spell and, following determined attempts by - Fox, N. Mudgway and D. Walker, D. Connelly was successful in earning a well deserve'd three points to again square accounts. Ian Mudgway, Fox and Rodgers had no luck when their next rush saw the ball reach deadball line • again. Wanderers retaliated, but found the Rahui fuP-back, R. Bevan, too soun'd.
