Institute Gardening Circle's Outing
The monthly meeting of the Otaki Women's Institute Gardening Circle was heM recently at the residence of Mrs. G. M. Kirk, Tasman Road, when Mrs. A. E. Hunter presided over a good attendance. Arrangements for the August display at the institute meeting were deferred until the June meeting, to be held at Mrs. Hunter's. Afternoon tea was served and then all visited Mr. Ting's nurseries. After being shown through the glass house, where plants of every description were being raised, outdoor shrubs, etc., were viewed. Keen interest was taken in all that was explained by Mr. Ting, the outing being most enjoyable. Before departing, Mrs. Hunter, on behalf of the members, thanked Mr. Ting for his kindness. - A competition for the beSt flower was won by Mrs. Hunter, with Mrs. I Kirk second. The best shrub com-l petition went to Mrs. J. Mudge, with Mrs. Walker second. A lucky number gift prize was won by Mrs. S. Brooks.
