Smallpox Plane Passengers In New Zealand

AUCKLAND, May 11. Three persons who recently travelled fi'om England to Australia iii the aircraft which carried the steward sufferixig from -a mild attack of smallpox, have been traced to the Auckland province. Two were loeated by the Health Department in the Hamilton district and the third was traced in Auckland yesterday. The necessar'y steps are oeing taken by the health officers. As the passengers in the ;plane had been vaccinated in England, there was not a great risk that there would be any spread of the infection in New Zealand, said the 'Auckland Medieal Officer of Health, Dr. A. W. S. Thompson. However, all precautiqns would be taken. If any other persons who travelled in tne plane had later come to New Zealand, they should report to the nearest ' Medieal Officer of Health.
