Anglican Ladies' Guild
There was a good attendance of members of the Anglican Ladies' Guild at their usual monthly meeting, held in the Parish Hall last week. Mrs. R. J. Lester, presided. The recently-appointed secretary, Mrs. Fitzsimmons, stated that she foun'd it impossible to carry out the duties and Mrs. P. J. Wright kindly offered to take over the position. Following a discussion on the raising of funds to erect a fence in front of the church in Stout Street, it was resolved that a shop day be held in Mrs. Hyde's shop on June 10. During the afternoon Mrs. Lester called upon Mrs. Parr, who has held ofiice as secretary for a number of years, but who had to. relinquish her duties on account of ill health, to accept a gift as a, mark of appreciation from members. A presentation was also made to Mrs. E. Jones, who is shortly leavi'ng for National Park. Mesdames Parr and Jones suitably teplied and thanked the members for their kindness. The sick visitor for last month, IVIrs. G. W. Munford, kindly offered to carry on these duties for a further month. Mrs. E. Chester was appointed to church duties Ifor this month and the hostesses for , the next meeting will be Mesdames Charter and Chester. The competition winners for the month were Mesdames E.
