Fat Sheep Sell Readily At Levin
This week's stock sale at Levin saw large yardings in all lines, the pigs especially being in heavy supply and overflowing into the sheep pens. Fat sheep sold exceptionafiy well, but cattle were fairly hard to quit. Vealers sold well and pigs realised current market rates. The foPowing is a range of the prices rea'ised: — Sheep: Fat ewes, 25s 4d to 36s ld; two-tooth ewes, 43s ~7d; wethers. 46s 4d, 47s ld, 51s 10d; lambs, 31s lOd to .39s 4d. Store sheep: Lambs, 22s to 25s; wethers, 34s to 35s 9d. Fat cattle: Vealers, 37s 6d to £3 7s 6d; heavier do., up to £8 7s 6d;" runners, £9 12s 6d; P.A. heifers, £13 to £15 2s 6d; P.A. cows, £11 to £11 17s 6d; cows exTdairy, £6'T2s 6d to £10 12s 6d; heifers, £5 7s Bd to £10 12s 6d. Btore cattle: P.A. steers, £10; P.A. heifers, £5 5s; cows, £5 12s 6d to £6 8s ; wegner heifers, £5 2s 6d to £5 6s. Pigs: Light pork,-£2G7s to £4 4s; medium do., up to £4 12s; heavier do., up to £5 ' 9sr choppers, £5 10i to £6 9s; stores, £1 to £1 15s.
