An American soldier was UJtder close arreslj ifi Stuttgart today .on charges of shooting d'ead a German woman and two men, says Reuter's Stuttgart eorrespondent. ; The police said that the soldier aad been drinking. He was forcibly put to bed by his barracks ehief iate last night, but awoke at 3 c'clock this mprping and attempted to take a jeep from the unit's motqr pool. It was a]leged that when a German guard refviSed to give him i jeep, he seized the guard's revol-r ver, shot him dead and drove oflOutside the towp he stopped two G.erman girls apd a man feturning from a dance and, flourishing the stolen revolver, o"rdered the girls '.nto the jeep. ' The police allegedf ;hat when one refused he shot her iead. The second girl obeyed his crder and later managed to escape. Shortly afterwards he wrecked the jeep and, after climbing oqt, is aleged to have killed hi§ third viptim.
