A recjuest that the Xew .Zealand Rugbv TTnion join with the Canterbnry ,1'nion in urging the Governinent to put into etTect a recommendation of the Gaming Conimission that week-day racing sliould be reverted to in Christ.churcli, was contuined in a letter received by tlie management commiltee of the Xew Zealand Union tonight. Mr T. C. Morrison said racing interfered largely with otlier sports in Canterbury. Tlie chairman, Mr A. Ht. ('. Belcher, said he thonght Canterbury should liring up a resolution at the annuai meeting of the Xew Zealand Union for endorsement. The mutter will lie referred to the next meeting of the councii. .
