Farmhand Pleads Guilty Of Entering Houses

Two charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit theft were faced by Peter Kora, married, farmhand, of Levin, in the Police Court, Levin, yesterday morning, when he appeared * before Megsrs J. W. Rimmer and D. J. Gardiner, , J.P.'s. He pleaded guilty. Evidence was given showing that on April 8 accused had broken into the dwelling of Mrs. G. D. Stewart, C.D. Farm Road, Levin, and that he had entered the home of Young Jun Fee on the same date. Mrs. Stewart's house had been locked. She had returned home about 5 p.m. and had found a window open and a writing desk forced, with the contents scattere'd over the room. Nothing was missing. Sergeant W. Grainger told the court that accused had been an employee of Jun Fee, and had been worfeing with him on his Weraroa market gardens up to noon on thfe day of the crime. Jun Fee had brought Kora into Levin during the afternoon and had left him in town. When he returned to his home in the C.D. Farm Road, he found the place had been entered and the rooms were in disorder. Constable A. T.' Ke k recounted how the complaints had been received and said that, consequent on the result of inquiries, he had interviewed accused, who had admitfced breaking into the two dwel ings to look for money.
