Wanganella Delayed By Bad Weather
WELLINGTON, April 26. Another chapter in the colourful career of the Wanganeila was added when she arrived from Sydney in Wellington this morning 24 hours late after one of the roughest crossings that Tasman travellers can recall. The Wanganeila was hove to from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday when about half way between Sydney and Wellington, said the commander, Captain H. F. Norrie, today. Bad condUions were experienced soon after she left Sydney and strong south-westerly gales were epcountered. Heavy rain and thick weather encounter-
ed on nearing Wellington caused a further delay. Captain Norrie said, that the decision to heave to wa's done in the interests of the passengers'. comfort. There was very little damage, only one window on an upper deck being broken.
