Man Found Dead In Fire--Gutted Room

CHRISTCHURCH, April 26. A man was found dead early this morning after fire had gutted a room in which he was sleeping. He was: Charles Godfrey Parish, aged 39, pubiic accountant, of 30 Bretts Road. Mr. Parish was sleeping in a sun room. His wife noticed the fire shortly before midnight and called the Christchurch fire brigade. By jthis time the sun room was full of dense black smoke, which probably asphyxiate-d Mr. Parish. All the windows in the room were shut "and when air was let'in the room burst in'o flame. The brfgade prevented the spread of the flames to . the rest of the house.
