| AUCKLAND, April 13. 1 An Auckland girl, Miss Yalerie Martin, of Parnell, has been chosen as the New Zealand Girl Guide to go to , the Guide camp in Switzerlancl from : July 25 to August 15. One Girl Guide from eight different countries has been offered this opportunity under a fun'il eslablished iu the United States bv the Girl Aeout Assoeiation, to commemor ate its founder, Juliet Low. The loun , tries in addition to New Zealand are Australia, Italy, India, Pakistan, Luxemberg, America and Eiechlenstein Miss Martin, who is 19 years old, e studying to be a dispenser at the Auck land Hospital. She will apply for leav*. of absence for the trip to Switzerlam. and expects to sail in the Mataroa m ; Maj*. She is a Sea Ranger member oj one of the senior branches of the Gir. Guide niovement in New Zealand. Her i'are from New Zealand to Switzerland , and back and all her living expenses ; wliile at the camp, will be paid from , the American f'und. | The runner-up was also an Auckland | girl, Miss Pat Beattv, a member of the Rahiri Rangers.
