More Tax Reductions For Lucky Australians

Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. CANBERRA, April 13. Federal finance figures sliow tliat th Government will have suffieient funds for substantial reductions in direct and indirect taxes in addition to the cuts which will operate from July 1. Eor the nine rnonths to March 31 revenue totalled £397,480,000 conipared with the estimate for the whole year of £492,842,000. The revenue for the whole year is now expected to exceed last year's record of £457.000,000. Last year the revenue exceeded the Budget estimates bv £60,000,000 but increascd exjienditure acc.ounted for all but a small part of the surplus. The total cost of the three income tax cuts in the past two years is estim ated at £95,500,000.
