CoQyright)
Received Thursday, 9.55 a.m. LONDON, April 13. The British Government has sent a note to the Soviet Embassy ' in London denying that the' Atlantic! Pact' contravenes the Anplo-Soviei, Treaty of 1942. It answers tlie Soviet note of January 31. Tne British note says "that the British Government ca'nnot admit ihat the Atlantic Pact is contrary to Article seven of the treaty wi,tB the Soviet Union, which fqrbids the entry of either party into a" c'oalicion directed against the other, since "the Atlantic Pact is directed solely against aggression itself." The note also denied that the Atlantic Pact ran as a counter to the obligations for postwar Allied cooperation. The British note counter-charged the Soviet Government with unxaithfuiness .in the 1942 Anglo-' doviet Treaty. It said that the Bric'sh Government vfailed to understand how Moscow -ihterpreted its obligation under the treaty not to seek territorial aggrandisement, and not to interfere in the internal affairs 'of other countries.
