AUCKLAND, April 11.
In view of the events tliat have taken place since the Northern Almers ' Union offered them linancial and morai support, officials of the deregistered Auckland Carpenters' Unon, at the re quest of the niinefs, addressed stopwork meetings at the Huntly mines this morning. .... • . If the Carpenters' Union, whieh je studiously witliholding its decision untiJ the last minute, does not agree tomorrow to take a " back-to-normal-work" secret ballot, the new union will be registered in aecordance with the ultimatum from the Minister of Labour, Mr, McLagan. Kepresentatives of the Carpenters' Union, headed by the secretary, Mr. D. McEwen,- and organiser, Mr. T. Frencli, left for Huntly by car early this nioruing. Simultaneous stopwork meetings were addreesed by a meinber of tl.c party at the Kenown, Glen Afton, Ma:donald, Rotowaro, Alison and Pukimiro mines. After an average of about an hour's lost time, the miners resumed work with the exeeption of tliose employed at the Macdonald rnine, who decided to go home for the rest of the day.
