Tliree Left wing unions which piayed a leading role in the boyeotting of certain emplovers during the carpenters dispute, will niake a hid to gain com plete control of the Auckland Trades Council at the election of officers for the ensuing vear on Thursday week. They are the Waterside Worlters' Union. Drivers ' Union and Carpenters' Union which, between tliem, have nominated' alinost a full ticket for the principaJ oftices and executive committee.. For the post of president the Water siders have nominated their nation ai vice-president, Mr. A. Drennan, a Corujnunist of long standing. The Carpenters' Union has nominated another Communist, their .national secretary, Mr. R. Stanley, for the positiun of vice-XJresident. - •
