WELLINGTON, Agril -8. With commendabfe ^discip'line and absence of panic forty-one members of the Women's. Auxiliary Air Force escaped from their dormitory at Worser Bay, Wellington, this morning when it was gutted by fire. The dormitory was at one end of a long building containing the kitchen and mess rooms and at the other end the officers' quarters. The outbreak occurred about 5.30 a.m. and the dormitory was wefl ablaze when the brigades arrived. The fire was stopped from spreading by two men fighting it above the kitchen ceiling. In addition an adjacent fire hydrant supply, sea water pumped through 1900 feet of hose, was employed to fight the fire which was uncrer control bv 6.23 a.m.
