Conditions At Rugby Park To Be Improved
Following an inspection of Rugby Park by the president of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, Mr. R. L. Robinson, he stated at Tuesday night's meeting of the management committee that it was in a disgraceful condition. The „ question of the long grass had been gone into and he had arranged to have this cut and shifted as soon as possible. In regard to the conveniences, he said it was obvious that the soak pit was evidently blocked, while the buildings were out of order." The secretary, Mr. J. E. Fullarton, had arranged for a plumber to examine the work and have it repaired. The committee confirmed the chairman and secretary's action in these matters. The question of the school fence appeared to be the joint responsibility of the school and the union, commented Mr." Robinson. It was essential that this be replaced as soon as possible. The secretary was instructed to coiitact the chairman of the Levin School Committee,- Mr. A. C. Kennerley, and the secretary, Mr. D. P. Todd, on' this matter". Discussion then centered on the possibility of buiMing suitable change rooms at the park. Mr. Robinson mentioned" that he had contacted a firm of builders and reported that they had pointed out that a permit would have to be secured for the building. Mr. F. Juno remarked that the cost of,' building could be cut down,by the impfementation of working bees. The matter was left over in the meantime.
