After a residence in this district of approximately 25 years, Mrs. WI. Biair is leaving "Langcroft," Te Horo, to make her home at Makirikiri, where her elder son, David, is farming. Despite the very wet afternoon on Saturday last, almost 40 of Mrs. Blair's friends and neighbours met at the home of Mrs. V. J. Cottle, where a farewell party was tendered. Mrs. H. A. Lumsden assisted Ml'S. Cottle as joint hostess, and' guests were pleasingly entertained with songs, music and elocutionary items, rendered by Miss D. Avery and Mesdames R. Knignt and L. Styies. . After a buffet tea, which was set in the sun lounge and dining room, Mrs. Graham Robertson, on behalf of the company, presen'ted Mrs. Blair with a weekend travelling set, comprising bag, umbrella, gloves| and handkerchiefs. Mrs. Robertson expresse'd the feelings of all present when she said how much Mrs. Blair would be missed, and very much regretted her coming departure. At tne same time all would wish her happiness in her new home. A pleasant and sociable afternoon was later concluded with the singIng of "Auld L'ang Syne."
