Started Something!

Received Wednesday, 9.40 a.m. * LONDON, March 15. Cries of "Shame" and "Withdraw" greeted a statement by the Health Minister, Mr. Aneurin Bevan, in the House of Commons today, that a Private Members' Bill to- provide analgesia in childbirth was not aimed at trying to give the best possible health service, but to expioit human pain as a political stunt. The Speaker rejected a demand by the Conservative, Mr. Oliver Stanley, for an immediate acljournment of the House to discuss "these reckless eharges." Mr. Bevan declared that it was the Government's policy to ensure that full facilities were provided for women to have analgesia in childbirth.
