NAPIER, March 15. • The slight easirig of- valfies wK|ch. has occurredi a&t rbceht saies throughout New Zeal'and appeaf ed to be checked at the opening day df the March sale at Napier today. The demand for fine quality crossbred wools was strong and values were firm on those at other saies in the last few weeks. Extra fine crossbred wool brpught to 40|d, with medium crossbred types also in firm demand and bringing to 35d. Little interest was taken in inferior sorts. Lamb wools were also keenly sought after arid brought to 35£d. Top price in the early stages was 44d f'or an odd lot of Southdown wool. The total of 43,195-bales of new season's wool is catalogued for the sale. No stock pile wool is being offered.
