WELLINGTON, March 11. In a statement tonight on gradings for export for the first scven months of the 1948-49 season (August 1 to Fobruarv 28), the chairman of the Dairy Products Marketing Commission, Air. William Marshall, said: "It is estimated that total reeeipts of Imtterfat by dairy companies for Ihe above period will be in exeess of the record 1940-41 season. The. quantitv manu- 1 faetured into eheese during the 394849 season is not, however, as great as in 1940-41 as there has been an inereased quant.ity supplied for liquid milk eonsumption and manufactured into wliole milk products other than butter and eheese. There also has been a substantial increase in the export of casein and this has affected tlie quantitv of eheese manufactured. "Recorded figures sliow that gradings for export frtr the seven months of the 1948-49 season ending February 28, will be approximately 116,000 tons of butter and 70,000 tons of eheese. This represents an increase over the correseponding period of the 1947-48 season of approximately 5500 tons of butter and 5500 tons of Gheese."-
