Mojst iilE, thb summer sports are neam&g|t1ie bnd of their season and comii&tiiiOn ^ames are almost completed, The Sharinon Football Club is holding its annual general meeting shortly. The club has a busy season before it as this is the jufoilee year. Whispers have been overheard on the street corners which indicate that it will not be long before golf clubs are taken out and a few* practice swings made on the back lawn prior to the opening of the season. Badminton . enthusiasts are lodking at the ealendar and asking if it is not t'ime that racquets were taken out of their presses. In all, the summer sport followers have had a very good season, the weather has treated them kindly and more than ever before
in these post-war years have members worked hard to place their clubs on a sound footing. Much has been done to improve their playing surroundings. The most improved playing field in this town is the local dbiiiain, where the athletic and cricket clubs have combined to bring the oval up to a very high standard. The local domain is now one of the beauty spots of the town and is a field where any athlete or cricketer would be proud to compete. The local bowling and croquet greens have also ^eceived considerable attention from members, and the tennis players have also worked very hard to inake their surroundings more attractive.
