Open Sports Meeting Tomorrow
Arrangements are well in haftd for the Shann'on Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's open sports meeting on the local tidmaiii tomorrow afternoon. A large prp-^ gra'mme of: cycling and athletic events is set down and good 'entries have been reeeived frqm Wanganui, Feilding, Palmerston North, Foxton, Levin, Paraparaumu, Poneke (Wellington) and Shannon clubs. It is anticipated that both the runnihg and cycling tracks will be in, splendid order for the meeting and, given fine weather, there should be a record attendance. The fixture is scheduled to commence at 12.30 p.m. with children's events. The ciub has secured excellent trophies for all events and these are now bn display in Messrs. W. H. Gunnihg's window. The trophies are .valued at over £60. Toittorrow's meeting will mark the close of activities locally for this season, and they have been most successful. A dance. will follow the sports in the evening.
