Famous Play To Be Presented
A good deal of local interest has been displayed for some time. past in the activities of a group of wellknown local citizens in the vicini'ty of the Civic Theatre. It has been known that some thing quite important was afoot and now Comes the artnoucement that . the O.aki Amateur Dramatic Society wjilli . stage a production, "Grumpy," at the -theatre on Monday and Tuesday, April 4 and 5. The announcement . of , the' : presentation represents the cul- ■ mination of a long period of pre- , paration. For months past memj bers of the society, have been at j work carrying out structural ialterations and additions to the stage of the theatre, which will Inow provide permanent faeilities jor handling scenery and will greatfy assist the staging of concerts, shows, etc. Another major task has been the building of the necessary scenery for the production of "Grumpy," and this job-is now nearing completion, enabling the society to I present this famous English play in { "its original setting. The initiative and enterprise of the society will undoubtedly prove to have been of great advantage in providing entertainment of a hign "| standard, and all will wish it suc6ess in the initial presentation.
