Railway Rink Wins Fours Championship
Displaying fine teamwork, Olaki Railway won the Wellington Bowling Centre's champion of champion fours competition on the Wellington Bowling Club's green this week. They beat Lyall Bay in the semi-final in the morning by one shot after an extra end had been played, and then continued their brilliant form in the afternoon to outplay Central in the final 25— 15 on the twelfth end. - The winners fully deserved their success, as this was the third time they had contested the final in the past .fouryears. * The weather, was ideal, and the green played much faster than on Tuesday, and was drawing hicely. The semi-final between Otaki Railway and Lyall Bay was. one. of the most exciting games ever seen in the competition. ! Otaki Railway (A. D. Webster, T. Webster, A. C. Mclntyre and O. H. Symons, skip) started off strongly, leading Lyall Bay (W. G. Mellish> J. F. Phythian, A> Av Ford/'dnd- B. A. Deare (skip) 8—4 on the' eighth end. -
