Retailers' State Case In Container Dispute

WELLINGTON, March 9. Arbitration proceedings in the dispute between vegetable and fruit' growers and retailers, were continued before Mr. G. G. G. Watson today. The retailers began their case late in the afternoon after more witnesses had been called by the growers. Mr. ilazengarb, opening the case for the retailers, revived previous difEerences between the growers and retailers and in 1944 the conference arranged for the retailers to have a full refund when they returned containers. >Subsequentlv the regulations were revoked ia 1946. Since thcn saeks and case companies in Wellington and Auckland had been unable to quote cases to growers. When the hearing was adjoutned, Ceeil Claude King, seeretary of the Federation of Fruiterers and Greengrocers, Auckland, had begun his evidence.
