* The membership of the Levin Playreaders . now. totalled 98,, said he president of the society, Mr. G. H. Sorenson, .when - presenting his report at the annual meeting on vVednesday night. The year just closed was the fourteentn in the society's existence and hvj-d been nctable for the general exeellence maintained throughout. The memoership was mbst satisfactory considering that the sUbsdriptions had oeen increase'd and it had also £$ be remembered that many "preferr3d to pay at the door at each reading. •• During the year there had been .nany interesting plays, all well cast and produced, and in this regard he thanked all who had assiste'd. The production of "Sarah Simple" had oeen a highlight of the year and had been ably produced by Mr. A. A. Savell. An innovation had been the holding of a social evening and the function had been so successful that he woul'd recommend its continuance each year. He -considered that the society had consolidated its position during the past year by the high siandard of its readings and production. Financially, the year nad also been successful, the balance sheet showing a cre'dit df £22 0s ld.

In conclusion, Mr. Sorenson paid a tribute to all who had been assbciated with him as office bearers during the year, and expressed the wish that the society womd con^ tinue to grow and function as successfully as in the p£st year. Hercus. . , . During the discusSion of general business it was decided that a letter of thanks for his services be senfc to the society's honorary auditor, Mr. ,Moir. It was decided that the subscriptions remain the same as last year, 10s for seniors and 5s for juniors, iwith an aamission charge to nonmembers at the various readings of ls 6d and 9d a reading respectively. It was also decided to issue members' cards this year and to seek jthe co-operation of members in j regard to the early payment of- subscriptions.
