Drivers' Lucky Escape Mild excitement was caused in Mill Road on Tuesday Ovening •when a truck which was being driven by a garage attendant and was having its hrakes tested skidded on the greasy road, collided with a telegraph pole. Many wires were brought doyvn and linesmen were still engaged repairing the damage the following morning. Luckily for him, the owner of the truck refused an invitation by the garage attendant to accompany ,-him, as the door on the off side was badly smashed and anyone sitting in the seat muSt have been injured. As it was, the driver emerged with little more^ than a shaking, although the time that elapsed between the truck hitting the pole and his exit from the damaged vehicle gave nearby residents reason to believe that he had been injured.
