Paraparaumu Institute's Monthly Meeting

The Paraparaumu Women's Institute met recently in the Anglican Hall, with Mrs. G. Hadfield in the chair. Numerous apologies were tendered on behalf of members unable to be present. Nominations were received for the officers for the ensuing year. A display of handiwork, which would give some indication of work available for the forthcoming display to be held in Levin, was made. Mrs. J. Eggers gave an inter63ting account of the Dominion conference, held in Palmerston North, and spoke of the hopes of the federation in soon acquiring a suitable building for its meetings. The best flower competition was won by Mrs. Cameron, with Mrs. Cromb seeond. Mrs. Hadfield was the winner of another competition which was finalised. In the unavoidable absence of Mrs. r. Caterer, Miss R. Clarkson acted as secretary.
