" A meeting of the Otaki sub-j branch ofHhe Horowhfenua March-| Lng Association was held on Tues- ' day night, when it was reported that entries for the display to be| held at Otaki on Saturday, March 5, are coming to hand very well. j Among teams which have enter-| ed to datexare The Fasnion. (Dan-I nevirke), and Cavehers (Hutt Val-j ley), Petone Rebels and Sargettes, these having been highly success-| f ul throughout the season so far. It is expected that entries will be numerous, and a high class display is anticipated. It was reported to the mee'.ing that the Wellington Watersiders' Junior Band will be present during the afternoon, and will he'p with the programme. The Horowhenua Pipe Band has also agreed to assist. Members present at .the' meeting expressed their gratification at the help so readily offered, and every opportunity is to be taken to bring before the public the many attractions which will be presented for their approval on the day. ^ . Arrangements for catering for the visiting teams were advanced a furt'her step, and committees and officials appointed. The remarkable growth and popularity of the marching movement is reflected in the record number of nominations received for the North Island champion-. ships, to be held at Palmerston North on Saturday next, when no less than 48 teams have signified their intention of competing. As Otaki's day comes after the North Island fixture and just before the New Zealand championships at Wellington, there is every reason to expect that the first display locally will be highly successful.
