Marriage Unites Levin And Otaki Families

A pretty wedding was celebrated recently when Dorothy Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C .L. McMinn, of • Levin, was married to John Joseph, son of Mr. and the la-te Mrs; Ahern, of Otaki, in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Levin, by the Rev. Father Lynch. The organist was Mrs. MacDonald. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. F. P. McMinn, of Palmerston North. She was dressed in white satin with faggoting at the neckhne and.around the long train. Her white tulle veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossoms. The bouquet was of white gladioli and carnations. The bridesmaids were Misses Margaret Batten and Ngarie McMinn (niece of the bride) , and they wore rose net with white spots over a deep rose satin. Tulle headwear and posies to match, consistinga of carnations, completbd their dresses. The church was decorated by cousins of the bride, the main theme being gladiolius, 'while at the reception the flowers matched the bride's and 'maids' dresses. The best man was Mr. Desmond Ahern and the groomsman Mr. Lawrence McMinn. During the ceremony and at the reception, Mrs. J. Gilchrist, of Wellington, sang solos. The bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe by her niece, Yvonne McMinn. At the reception Mrs. McMinn received the guests wearing a brown frock with -fawn accessories. She was assisted by Mrs. Brady, bf Wellington. When the happy couple left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a powder blue suit with burgundy ac.cessories. Their future home will be in uevin.
