Stock Values Firm At Sale In Levin
Only a few store sheep came -forward at the Levin sale yesterday, when. prices realised wero on a par with recent rates. Shorn lambs were penned in fewer numbers and consequently values were well up to last week's rates. There was a good entry in the cattle section, with prices fully firm. The pig yarding was again full, except in the store section, and prices were below. recent weeks' rulings. Among the prices realised were the following: — 1 'Cattle: Vealers, £6 12s 6d to £7 ,17s 6d; medium do., £5 7s 6-d to £5 '17s 6d; light and unfinished sorts, ;to £2 12s 6d; run^ers, £11 2s 6d to £11 7s 6d; prime T.A. heifers, £11 j 12s 6d to £15 7s 6d; P.A. cows £15 ,7s 6d; ex-dairy cows, £7 12s 6d to ' £8 7s 6d. i Pigs: Prime Baconers, £6 Is to . £6 7s; heavy porkers, £5 to £5 17s; i medium do., £3 4s; lighter do., down to £2 8s; stores, £2 5s; weaners, 10s ( to 24S. I Sheep: Ewes, 26s 4d to, 30s lod; wethers, 44s to 45s lOd; lambs, 29s 4d to 37s 4d.
